Ms Heymans began work for Pat Grano on July 24 1962 at the age of 20 and continued working at the practice after it became Grano and McCarthy in 1967, until March 14 this year.
As the longest serving staff member Ms Heymans has cared for three generations of clients. Everyone who has known Ms Heymans - clients and staff alike - have liked and respected her.
Ms Heymans' competence in the areas of wills and probate, conveyancing and bookkeeping is legend.
"Pam has been such an integral part of the practice for many years, it is difficult to imagine how we can operate without her," Frank McCarthy said.
Mr McCarthy light-heartedly noted that the place 'runs much better when a solicitor is not there and Pam is'.
"Pam leaves with us a remarkable legacy - one which will remain with us for years to come - which we all appreciate greatly. She will be missed as a colleague, a wise counsellor and a friend," Mr McCarthy said.
"Pam, we thank you for your hard work and diligence, your loyalty and good humour, and wish you all the best of the adventures of well-earned retirement!"
