REGION - The Grampians Region YMCA in conjunction with Ararat College, Lake Bolac P-12 College, Marian College and Stawell Secondary College presented its inaugural YMCA Youth Awards at the schools' award's ceremonies.

The awards are presented to both a male and female representative from either years nine or 10 who consistently demonstrate the YMCA values of:
Honesty - displaying integrity, trustworthiness, and fairness.
Caring - displaying acceptance, empathy, self-respect, tolerance.
Respect - displaying compassion, forgiveness, generosity, and kindness.
Responsibility - displaying commitment, courage, trustworthiness and service.
The 2013 Award recipients were:
Marian College - Eloise Tapscott (year 10) and Corey Wilkinson (year 10).
Lake Bolac P-12 College - Sarah Thewlis (year 10) and Patrick Graham (year nine).
Stawell Secondary College - Erin McClure (year nine) and Jake Stainsby (year nine).
Ararat Community College - Jordyn Leggett (year 10), Rhys Sheffield (year 10).
President of the YMCA, John Stewart said he was pleased to join in partnership with the local schools to present the awards to young people who are displaying values consistent with the YMCA.
Mr Stewart said he looks forward to further partnerships.
