Organisers Mick and Pauline Johnston said 75 cars from the Falcon GT Club of Australia took part in the Ballarat to Ararat weekend run two years ago and they were hoping for at least that many to attend this year.
It is expected GT owners from New South Wales and South Australia as well as locals will descend on Ararat over the weekend, and there will be a number of special vehicles on display including an XR 67 GT and a 1973 model XA panel van, which is the only one of its kind and was made as a promotional vehicle by Ford.
The GTs will be on display in front of Jerram's Auto Pro from 12 noon on Saturday, January 25, with a sausage sizzle available, after which the muscle machines will spend the afternoon at the Johnstons' property, with owners having the opportunity to check out Mick's memorabilia or put their cars on the Dyno.
On Sunday, participants will leave for a scenic drive to Willaura and barbecue lunch at the Willaura Hotel where trophies will be presented for the weekend.
