The Golf Links Road concrete path was completed as part of the council's Capital Works Program last financial year. The project has been undertaken as part of an ongoing upgrade to the popular shared path.
The path is not only used by walkers, but those who use mobility scooters and parents with prams.
Council is currently going through the tender process to engage a suitable consultant to undertake the preparation of the 'Ararat on the Move' Active Transport and Lifestyle Strategy.
This strategy will investigate all the paths in and around Ararat and how they connect to each other, parks and recreation spaces.
The Strategy will provide advice on priority paths for upgrade and different construction standards for the paths throughout the municipality.
