Six kilometres gone: Theft forces rail changes
TRAINS on the Melbourne-Adelaide rail corridor were forced to operate under changed procedures after about six kilometres of copper line was stolen from signalling infrastructure at Deep Lead. The theft, believed to have occurred about 11.45pm on May 27, triggered a network warning between Deep Lead and Great Western that remained in place until repairs were completed the following day.
