Pencils down one last time
It’s pencils down for the regions Year 12 students this week as exams get underway, marking the end of a year of intense study.
Marian College Principal Catherine Howison said she couldn’t be prouder of the graduating class.
“I’m really proud of all our Year 12s. I think they’ve done everything they possibly could do to put themselves in a good position for success, and of course, that will look different for each of them,” she said.
“We had students here studying hard in preparation. I know students were studying at home, it’s a bit of a marathon and they’ve had a long year,” Ms Howison said.
“I’m really proud they’ve been able to work so hard, communicate really well with their teachers, they’ve had great support from their families, and they’ve also had moments of joy and fun amongst that.”
Ms Howison wished the students all the best as they enter the final stretch of their schooling.
“We wish them every success for the exam and I hope they remain calm, cool and collected,” she said.
She also acknowledged that not every student’s path looks the same as some ditch the university selections for the workforce.
“Of course, we have other Year 12s that are going into the workplace and into traineeships, and they’ll be feeling a whole lot of different nerves for different reasons. So we’re wishing them well for their exams and looking forward to that graduation.”
