No water restrictions, yet
GWMWater has indicated water restrictions are not on the cards this summer despite local water storages falling over the past 12 months.

Below average rainfall has placed strain on water storages across Victoria, with some towns being placed on early restrictions.
Stawell, Halls Gap, Glenorchy, Marnoo and Pomonal receive water from the Grampians Headwork sourced from storages at Lake Wartook, Lake Bellfield, Lake Fyans, Lake Lonsdale, Lake Toolondo, Taylors Lake and Rocklands Reservoir.
Only Lake Bellfield and Lake Fyans have water levels over 50% sitting at 65% and 69% respectively.
But other storages are suffering due to a lack of rain with Lake Lonsdale at jut 20% capacity, Lake Wartook at 26%, Lake Toolondo at 32%, Taylors Lake 40% and Rocklands Reservoir 33%.
In a statement, GWMWater said it is carefully monitoring water levels and consumption, but at this stage there are no new restrictions being planned.
“GWMWater’s service region is subject to Victoria’s Permanent Water Saving Rules, which are always in place.
“These rules support responsible water use and form an important part of sustainable water management for our communities.
“At this stage, GWMWater has not introduced any staged water restrictions.
“GWMWater continues to monitor conditions closely and encourages everyone to use water wisely to help protect our region’s resources.”
