New era for Bakers Delight
ARARAT’S Bakers Delight franchise is under new management after the business sold this week to local brothers Matt and Alex Sutton. Previous owners Mick and Cassie Menzies recently returned to run Bakers Delight in their home town Colac and decided to part with their Ararat business.

Matt Sutton said it was an exciting period.
“We’ve been here for a good few years now but this is our first chance to run it,” he said.
“It’s a great business and we enjoy providing the local community with bread,” Matt said.
Alex Sutton said the bakery would continue supporting local community groups.
“We’ll still help out the local charities too like the food drive at the school and less fortunate people, as well as the Lions Club,” he said.
Mick and Cassie came to Ararat eight years ago and it’s the place where their three children were born.
He said the community had been welcoming and supportive.
“We just want to pass on our thanks to the community but our staff as well.
“We did a bit of a count the other day and we’ve hired over 70 people since we’ve been here in town from trainees and apprentices to people who are maybe returning to the workforce, we’ve hired people of all ages and all abilities.
“We’re really proud of the fact that Matt, who has been with us since day one and Alex who joined us 18 months later, we’re really proud we’ve been able to cultivate an environment where they feel they can be successful in the same way we’ve done. We wish them the very best of success.
“Ararat people should be happy locals are taking over a local business.
We wish them the very best of success,” Mick said.
