Madness and mayhem at the Spyglass Club
ARARAT Regional Theatre Society’s end of year production of ‘Spy Club’ is set to provide audiences with plenty of laughs.

Director Rennie Hannan encouraged people to get a table of friends or family together for a great night of hilarious twists and turns.
“Spy Club is a great mystery and would make a perfect choice for an end of year catchup with friends, family or colleagues,” Mrs Hannan said.
“We invite our audience to enter into the spirit of the show and come dressed in your best 1950s evening attire – pull out the dinner suits and evening frocks with fur stoles, and get ready for some fun and games on stage and off.”
Spy Club follows an innocent search for a father, which leads to bigger mysteries.
In the city of Balaclavastan in the country of Romanastanaslovakia, in Central Europe, you can find the famous Spyglass Club.
In the first half of the 20th Century, this club is a hotbed of Russians, Americans and British businessmen, expats, gypsies and …… even a few spies.
One day a young woman appears, searching for her father. She meets many intriguing, colourful characters, most of whom are not who they appear to be. Risking her life, she uncovers the truth and finds more than she could ever imagine.
The cast includes Cecelia McKenna, John Steele, Evee Cosgriff, Maxine Thompson, Harry Fulford, Patty Fulford, Stephanie McKiernan, Karinda Atkins, Sally Bond, Melanie Thompson, Peter Hannan, Rebecca McKiernan, Daryl Chaplin, Mary Reid and Rennie Hannan.
Spy Club will be staged at the Ararat Town Hall on November 21 and 22.
Tickets are available from the Ararat Town Hall website ararattownhall.com.au, through the Ararat and Grampians Visitor Information Centre or phone 1800 657 158.
“Join in the madness and mayhem, twists and turns, songs and dances and the terrible and not so terrible jokes as we journey with spies and gypsies through this exciting adventure,” Mrs Hannan said.
