Local performers to star in Beauty and the Beast
STAWELL Performing Arts Company (SPACi) has engaged a number of local performers to be part of its 2026 production of Beauty and the Beast.
SPACi has a long term mission to inspire people from Stawell and surrounding areas to embrace their theatrical sides.
Since 2022, SPACi has staged several well attended performances of Spamalot, Hood, Urinetown and most recently, Into The Woods.
For 2026, the group has chosen a tale as old as time, Beauty and the Beast.
This production is directed by returning director Margaret Arnup, with assistance from Sarah Dunlop and Kayan Barnes.
Director Margaret Arnup said she's an avid lover of all things
Disney.
“This is one of my favourite musicals of all time,” she said.
President of SPACi Ian Mitchell said he believes Beauty and the Beast is a great choice for the group.
"Beauty and the Beast is a fantastic show full of enchantment, courage and charm."
He's also encouraging people to come down to the SPACi information night to find out how they can become involved in the production.

“From being on the initial pitch team to the directors table, I'm incredibly proud of what’s been done and optimistic on what will be achieved,” he said.
There will be an information night answering all questions about SPACi's Beauty and the Beast on April 30th from 7pm at the Stawell Entertainment Centre.
Auditions will start mid-May with the show to go on stage in late October.
