Local get a sneak peek at WAMA
THE WAMA Foundation project between Pomonal and Halls Gap welcomed local industry members for an exclusive preview event ahead of its official July opening.
Guests were invited to explore the site’s inaugural exhibition, End & Being by Western Australian artist Jacobus Capone, and tour the site including the Gariwerd/Grampians Endemic Garden.
Bronte Heron, WAMA’s Experience and Engagement Manager, said it was a great experience welcoming visitors to the site.
“It’s surreal to be at the stage of welcoming visitors to WAMA after such a long period of imagining, planning, and anticipating their arrival,” she said.
WAMA CEO Pippa Mott highlighted the significance of the local community’s involvement in bringing the project to life.
“Our success is so bound with our immediate community, we depend on our peers and partners for their belief in the project, and their willingness to advocate for it. The Grampians is brimming with talent, ideas, and a spirit of collaboration – and we can’t wait to tap into that, to work together to showcase all that this spectacular region has to offer,” she said.
WAMA’s official opening is scheduled for July 5th at 12pm, with plans to develop a strong program of exhibitions, education, and environmental initiatives to follow.
