Life membership for history stalwart
AROUND 31 years ago, Diane Western and her husband Tim were the driving force behind an initiative to preserve local history. Diane played an integral role establishing the Landsborough Historical Group, and recently she was rewarded with a life membership.

Diane and Tim along with Jim Browne and Michael Molan came up with the idea of forming a group to preserve Landsborough's rich history.
Sadly, Michael passed away back in 1997, followed by Tim in 2015 and now Jim in the past few months - but Diane has remained in the group for 31 years, all of those in the position of Treasurer as well as many years doubling up as Secretary.
Without her efforts, there would not be a Historical Group.

At the Landsborough Historical Group’s mid-winter lunch at Summerfield Winery, the committee presented Diane with life membership, much to her surprise.
The presentation included a framed certificate of appreciation, a signed card and a special crystal gift.
