Ararat Rural City Council has partnered with the Lake Bolac artist to showcase a selection of her works in the central Ararat laneway, creating an open air exhibition that celebrates the region’s natural beauty.

The installation features a series of acrylic paintings depicting much loved locations around the Grampians and Lake Bolac, including Halls Gap, Lake Bellfield, Lake Wartook, and the Grand Canyon walking track.

Anne‑Marie’s work focuses on capturing the sharp, bright colours of Australian sunlight and the calm of local lakes and mountain landscapes, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on the places they know well.

Mayor Cr Bob Sanders said the laneway gallery was another example of how local creativity can bring new life to everyday spaces in the Ararat CBD.

“Anne‑Marie’s work really speaks to this district. You look at these paintings and you can almost feel the sun on your back and the crunch of the track under your boots,” he said.

The exhibition space was established with support from the Victorian Government’s COVID Safe Outdoor Activation Fund 2021 and continues to provide opportunities for local and regional artists to exhibit in the city.
