Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal returns

THE Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal officially launched this week, marking the beginning of the annual campaign to help bring Christmas joy to families in need. Ararat Store Manager Andrew Bolzon said this year’s appeal will once again support The Salvation Army, ensuring that children across the community have something special to open on Christmas morning.

“Just giving back to our own communities, it’s a terrific cause and it’s great to be part of it,” Andrew said.

“As a store manager, and my team say the same too, where you can make a small impact on someone’s life, just for a couple of hours, for that brief moment, it’s an amazing feeling.”

Now in its 38th year, the Wishing Tree Appeal has become a cornerstone of Kmart’s community giving, providing toys and gifts for families facing hardship during the festive season.

“Times are tough out there,” Andrew said, encouraging locals to donate what they can.

Donations can be placed under the Wishing Tree at Kmart until December 24, with all gifts distributed by The Salvation Army to families in need.
