While they didn’t win the match last Saturday against Linton, he was their best player with 18 runs with the bat, and he took Lexton’s only wicket of the match.

While Karslake has played more than 200 games, with the exact number to be recorded in the future when his stats are compiled from old record books.

Karslake has won three premierships for Lexton, one as a captain, and is a four-time best and fairest for the club, and a two-time league runner-up, one in the Pyrenees Cricket Association and the other in the Grenville Cricket Association.

He has scored 3975 runs, with a batting average of 23.98 and a high score of 105. While he has only scored one century, he has scored 16 half-centuries.

As a bowler, he has taken 190 wickets and has an average of 15.79 with best figures of 6/28.

He has taken 93 catches, has been involved in three runouts, and 12 stumpings.

Karslake said the highlight of his career was the premierships, noting the first one he played in and the one he captained.

“I was a mascot in a premiership my dad captained over twenty years ago. My first one was the club's first one since then, so it was pretty special,” he said.

He also spoke about the century he made three years ago against Carngham at Snake Valley.

“We bowled first and they made over 200 runs, so we had a big chase on our hands, and I came in at three and thought if we were to win, we needed to have a crack, and I was lucky to score a few,” he said.

“I wasn’t too nervous when I got into the 90s, as I was seeing them good and I was confident we would chase down the target.

“I hit a boundary to bring up my 100th run, and in the next over, we hit the winning runs.”

At 31 years of age, Karslake has plenty of cricket left in him.

“I would like to have scored more runs, but I am happy with what I have done so far,” he concluded.

TIGERS FALL TO BLUES

In reply, Karslake got the Tigers only wicket, bowling James Munro for 23. He finished with figures of 1/8 off two overs.

The Tigers are currently without a win after four rounds. Things don’t get easier for the Tigers, playing second placed Derrinallum at Derrinallum Recreation Reserve on Saturday.
