Sustainability Officer

In this role you will work with the Sustainability & Engineering Manager in the development, implementation and management of the University's Environmental Sustainability Strategy. This will include a range of multi-disciplinary sustainability initiatives in the areas of, energy efficiency, carbon reduction, water management, resource recovery and waste management, transport and mobility, campus planning and development and stakeholder communication and awareness.

You will implement a range of Energy, Carbon and Water monitoring, utility reduction initiatives, usage forecasting and regulator reporting. As the subject matter expert you will also provide recommendations regarding decisions such as sustainability initiatives.

Specifically you will;

• Collaborate with and Support the Sustainability & Engineering Manager in the development, implementation and management of Environmental Sustainability strategies, standards, policies, procedures and initiatives.
• Lead, develop, establish and maintain an Environmental Management System for Campus Infrastructure arid Services
• Prepare and contribute to business strategies supporting environmental sustainability and manage related procurement activities
• Undertake detailed business analyses of initiatives that enable the effective implementation of a University-wide Sustainable strategy.
• Prepare management and regulatory compliance reports based on monitoring of utilities
• Represent and promote Sustainability within CIS and University and coordinate initiatives that support the University Environmental Sustainability Strategy.
• Engage external stakeholders, staff and student communities to promote environmental sustainability

You will be qualified in Environmental Engineering/Science or similar with a minimum 3 year’s relevant experience. You will have a thorough understanding of the delivery of energy efficiency/water efficiency/sustainable projects across a range of technologies & services in a varied property portfolio.

This is an initial 9 month agency contract position paying $60-75/hr plus super, possibly more and is only open to candidates with full working rights in Australia.
