The Role
Our facility at the Hopkins Correctional Centre is looking for Dentist to join our team on a part-time basis (0.6 FTE - 3 days a week with flexibility to work across the centres preferably extended week’s coverage). Hopkins Prison is a medium security, male facility. Situated at Ararat, Victoria, approximately 200 kilometres west of Melbourne. 
Langi Kal Kal Prison is a minimum security-male facility situated at Trawalla, just off the Western Highway 43km from Ballarat and approximately two-hours’ drive from Melbourne, this location offers a fantastic tree-change opportunity. 

Our Dentists are an integral part of the primary healthcare team at the correctional facility and are primarily responsible for:

• Providing general dental practitioner services at the Health Centre at scheduled times
• Developing treatment plans for patients and reviewing patients requiring ongoing dental care
• Providing dental diagnosis and treatment including ordering of diagnostic tests as required
• Working as an integral part of the health care team for the site and for Correct Care Australasia (Correct Care)

Essential experience and attributes include the following selection criteria:

Essential

• Dental Practitioner with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Intermediate to advanced PC skills, including word processing and spread sheet applications and other data bases as required.
• Current Victorian driver’s license.
• Current First Aid certificate.
• Compliance with all requirements to work in custodial/correctional health environments as mandated by applicable State and Commonwealth public health laws or orders (however described), including mandatory vaccination directions (however described), including but not limited to directions relating to COVID-19.
• Flexible and resilient to changing health environment.

Desirable

• Experience in working in restricted environments.
• Knowledge of correctional health
