Halls Gap ready to respond to cardiac events

A campaign to enhance first aid skills in the community and a new Automated External Defibrillator facility have boosted Halls Gap’s capacity to deal with cardiac arrest incidents. A total of 157 Halls Gap community members learnt to Call, Push, Shock, a huge 32 per cent of the town’s population, on the way to the town graduating as a Heart Safe Communities through an Ambulance Victoria and Heart Foundation initiative, while a new 24/7 publicly accessible AED was registered at MacKenzie Falls, bringing the total number of registered AEDs in the community to 10.
