Fro Yo Fun scoops up fans in Halls Gap
A NEW dessert destination in Halls Gap is quickly building a loyal following, with frozen yoghurt store Fro Yo Fun serving up colourful and customisable treats since opening in January.
Located beside Spirit of Punjab Indian Restaurant, the business has become popular with both locals and visitors looking for a lighter dessert option.
After trying the popular dessert with his family, owner Gary Singh, decided to bring it to the Grampians.
“We tried it in Melbourne, we thought it was a healthy option for dessert and with ice cream you feel a heaviness, after eating the yoghurt you don’t feel very heavy like with ice cream,” Mr Singh said.
Mr Singh said concept was still relatively new for regional customers.
“It’s going well. Melbourne people already know what frozen yoghurt is but we are introducing it to the country people,” he said.
“We have a plan on how to improve and with word of mouth we are getting there.”
Mr Singh said the huge range of flavours and toppings had been a major drawcard for customers.
“It’s just like ice cream, except it’s made from the pure yoghurt, so people who try it come in again and again,” Mr Singh said.
With eight frozen yoghurt flavours, 35 toppings and six sauces available, customers can create hundreds of unique combinations, including pistachio, white chocolate, chocolate and cookies and cream sauces.
“And with the choice of fruit and toppings you create your own flavour. There’s a lot of creativity.”
Fro Yo Fun is open seven days a week from 11am to 9pm at 161 Grampians Road, Halls Gap.
