Fresh new exhibition comes to Art Trax
A fresh and vibrant exhibition is lighting up Beaufort this May, with Art Trax Gallery hosting Expressions of Colour by Melton artist Leianne Ivankovic from 1 May to 28 May.
Rather than a traditional pathway into the gallery, this exhibition began with a simple, personal approach.
“Leianne actually came into the gallery to see if we would be interested in holding an exhibition. We’ve been in touch over the past year or so, discussing when it might happen,” said Art Trax representative Heather Featherstone.
That initiative speaks not only to Leianne’s commitment to her work, but also to her regard for the local arts space.
“It really shows she thought our gallery was worth using to display her beautiful work,” Ms Featherstone said.
Expressions of Colour brings together a collection that reflects Leianne’s love of light, tone and varied mediums, developed over years of dedication and exploration.
While there won’t be a formal opening, the gallery will host a volunteer get-together on Sunday 24 May from 2pm to 4pm, offering visitors an informal opportunity to view the exhibition and connect with the space.
The exhibition runs throughout May, with visitors welcome to drop in and experience the work at Art Trax Gallery at the old railway station in Pratt Street Beaufort.
