Stawell resident Grayson Savic will play the role of Lysander, one of Shakespeare’s best-loved romantic leads.

He said it’s a dream role.

“It’s such a fun character to explore,” he said.

“Lysander is passionate, impulsive, and hopelessly in love – and he gets caught up in all the chaos of the fairy magic.”

Smart Artz Theatre has developed a reputation for fresh, accessible productions of classic works, and this year’s staging features live music, imaginative costumes, and even a custom-built stage revolve designed especially for the Gardens.

“We want the audience to feel like they’ve stepped into an enchanted forest,” said director Maddi Ostapiw.

“Having Grayson on board brings a real spark to the love story at the heart of the play.”

Performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will run October 31, November 1 and 2 in Horsham’s Botanic Gardens.  Tickets are available from horshamtownhall.com.au or by calling 5382 9555.
