Dance floors erupt at Jailhouse Rock

Dancers packed Ararat Town Hall last weekend as Jailhouse Rock capped another successful festival, with three days of music, dancing, classic cars and visitors flowing into the city from across the region and beyond. From Friday night’s cruise through the centre of town to a full weekend program across the Town Hall, Barkly Street and Ararat Racecourse, the long-running event once again brought colour, energy and a welcome economic boost to the community.

On Friday and Saturday nights, Ararat Town Hall came alive as festivalgoers dressed to the nines and took to the dancefloor for a celebration of rock ’n’ roll, rhythm and retro style.

The atmosphere spilled outdoors on Saturday, with live music and dancing in Town Hall Square adding to the festival buzz and drawing crowds into the centre of town throughout the day.

Saturday night also featured live rock ’n’ roll at The Leopold Hotel, giving visitors and locals another chance to dance late into the evening.

The festival’s final musical extravaganza unfolded on Sunday at Ararat Racecourse, where performers, dancers and supporters came together to close out another high-energy weekend that once again transformed Ararat into a rock ’n’ roll destination.
