Courts in the home straight
THE finish line is in sight for Central Park’s new netball courts, with contractors pushing to have the upgraded facility ready for the upcoming season.

Central Park was among 41 sporting facilities across Victoria to receive funding for upgrades last year, with a $790,000 grant backing the netball court redevelopment.
The project includes a realignment of the courts, a new concrete base with an acrylic playing surface and 200-lux LED lighting to improve visibility for training and matches.
Jason Perry, from Horsham-based contractor Landscape It, said the timeline was tight but achievable, with completion officially scheduled around ANZAC Day.
“It’s a big job, but hopefully done by Easter,” Mr Perry said.
Concreting contractor Damian Cameron said the finished courts would represent a significant improvement for local sport.
“It’s gonna be a flash setup,” Mr Cameron said.
Once complete, the new courts are expected to provide a safer, more consistent playing surface and improved lighting for local netball competitions and evening training at Central Park.
