Lake Bolac Golf Club President Dallas Cameron said the support from the local bank had made a significant difference for club volunteers.

“From the club's perspective on the bank, it's amazing to have a bank in our little town. One that helps the community in whatever way it needs, to help us grow and to keep people active in all the things we do,” he said.

“Being a fully volunteer-run club it costs a lot of money, we couldn't do it without the help and the funding that the Bendigo Bank provides. Because of that, a lot of people have changed their banking to the community bank in the area, because of what they do for the clubs.”

The funding supported a shed extension for the club, along with mowing and maintenance equipment.

“It's been an absolute game changer for people that volunteer their time here, to have a space, we never were undercover. Now we can sharpen blades on mowers and everything without sitting in the rain. We couldn't have done it without the help from the bank.”

Community Bank Willaura and Lake Bolac Secretary Clare Hill said supporting local clubs and organisations remained a priority.

“Our community contributions in total is $487,000,” she said, explaining that only with the help of locals banking with the Bendigo Community Bank they are able to continue with their support.

“(We) encourage locals to bank with us because they see how much money we're giving out. We can continue to do these little projects for the communities in the area.”
