Buangor concludes GCA season
Buangor mixed under-13 cricketers have concluded their 2025/2026 Grampians Junior Cricket Association season with a thrilling 10-run loss to Pomonal at Moyston Recreation Reserve last Friday, February 27.
After losing the toss, Buangor restricted Pomonal to 9/116 off their 22 overs. Lucas Miller was the pick of the bowlers with 1/10 (2).
Georgie Chamings (1/11), Hamish Russell (1/12) and Luka Pollono (1/13) were the other wicket takers.
Chasing 117 for victory, Buangor lost Trinity Arch early, but Lucas Miller and Evalyn Hayward batted well to lead Buangor to 1/25. Hayward fell for 12, and shortly after, Samuel Gregg fell for a duck, and Buangaor found themselves in trouble at 3/32.
Georgie Chamings, along with Luka Pollono, added another 29 runs before Chamings fell for 11.
Despite Charles Gregg scoring an unbeaten 11 and Pollono a strong 26, Buangor fell 10 runs shy of the total, finishing at 8/106 off their 22 overs.
Trinity Arch led the way for Buangor during the season, scoring 76 runs, while Luka Pollono and Georgie Chamings scored 75 and 65, respectively.
Trinity Arch also led the way in the field with two catches.
Chamings led the way with the ball, taking six wickets, while Pollono and Lucas Miller both took four apiece.
Chamings also led the way in the champion player standings for Buangor.
In the other under-13s match, Tatyoon Maroon defeated Swifts/Great Western by seven runs.
Tatyoon claimed the mixed under-16s grand final, defeating Swifts/Great Western by seven wickets.
