Brian Nankervis delights the crowd at Willaura
THE Willaura Hall was filled with laughter recently when Brian Nankervis, of Rockwiz fame, charmed a hundred and fifty people over dinner with his quiz master expertise and friendly banter. Guests came dressed the part, and there were Blues Brothers, Devos, and all manner of rock/pop stars scattered around the hall. Brian’s quiz was tricky at times, and some tables were better than others at plucking the right answers out of thin air.
The winners were quite rightly jubilant when they realised they knew more about everything trivial than anyone else.
The Best Dressed Man was Alice Cooper, aka Tony Green, who came complete with his wrap around snake.
Helenmary Macleod was the Best Dressed Lady and looked every bit Shania Twain.
The Best Dressed Group were the Wiggles, with Captain Feathersword being a particular highlight.
The limbo competition proved that anyone tall was in trouble, and that being young and nimble was a definite advantage.
In the end it was Terri Hall who most successfully inched her way under the pole.
Fraser Heard as ‘The Boss’ and Geoff Brittain as ‘Elvis’ were the karaoke kings and belted out their numbers with gusto.
Organisers were pleased that so many people from across the Western District and beyond came to Willaura to have fun with Brian Nankervis, and that he had given the enthusiastic crowd so much to laugh about.
