ARTS announces cast of Grease
ARARAT Regional Theatre Society is excited to announce the cast of its 2026 production of the hit musical Grease. After an exhausting audition process, which saw many new faces take part in the process, ARTS announced the cast at the first read-through in December. In the leading roles, Sandy Dumbrowski will be played by Zyggie Fraser and Danny Zuko by Daniel McCready, both experienced performers who have been on stage with Ararat Musical Comedy Society and now ARTS since they were children.

Other lead roles include Grayson Savic (Rizzo), Harry Hauser (Kenickie), Lucy Turville (Marty), Zafirah Harrison (Jan), Poppie Dykes (Frenchy), Ava Hine (Patty), Logan Todd (Doody), Patty Belcher (Roger) and Harry Fulford (Sonny).
Minor roles include Maree Fraser (Teen Angel), Nichole Palmer (Johnny Casino), Caitlin Baird (Cha-Cha DiGregorio), Jill Deneys (Miss Lynch), Aylah Knight (Eugenie) and Kristy van Roosmalen (radio voice).
The role of Vince Fontaine is still to be announced.
A large cast of experienced performers also make up the ensemble, and the production team is still looking for more guys and girls to join.
“We are so excited for this young cast to bring Grease to life,” Director Russell Purdie said.
“We were blown away by their performances in the auditions, which made our decision so difficult, but we are confident we have a great mix in the lead roles to convey the story and songs of this fantastic musical,” he said.
Joining Russell to head the production team include assistant director Kara Dickson, musical director Leanne McCready and assistant musical director Maree Fraser.
Rehearsals will commence late January/early February, please keep an eye on ARTS’ social media for further details and to express your interest in joining the ensemble or production crew.
