Amos and Start continue strong form

St Arnaud’s Jesse Amos and Heidi Start continued their strong form in the Wimmera District 12 swimming season, claiming more trophies at the meet in Warracknabeal last Saturday.

Amos won the Warracknabeal RSL Perpetual Trophy for winning the Men’s Open 100m Freestyle. He also claimed victory in the 17-29 50m Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Freestyle.  

Start won the W. Maroney Perpetual Trophy, winning the Women’s Open 100m Freestyle. She won eight of her nine races.  

Jack McNally also won a race for St Arnaud, swimming to victory in the Boys 11-12 50m Butterfly. 

Matilda Delahunty from Horsham won the Phllips Perpetual Trophy for the fastest girls 10/11 in the 50m Butterfly. 

Ararat’s Emily Perazic won the Geoff Ferguson Memorial Trophy for the female 17-and-over best performing swimmer over four strokes, while Ararat won the Neil Ross Shield for the District 12 team with the highest aggregate points from the meet. 

This was the last meet before Christmas, with meets resuming on Saturday, 31 January 2026, with the Piranha’s Meet being held at the St Arnaud Swimming Pool.
