Resident Don Rowe was the recipient of the Australian Government Individual Landcarer Award at the 2021 Victorian Landcare Awards ceremony.
The event recognises individuals and groups across the state for their contributions to preserving Victoria's incredible landscapes.

Labor member for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford congratulated the award recipients.
"The Landcare Awards are a great celebration of the breadth of Landcare and environment, with the awards recognising individuals, groups and partnerships, importantly including First Nations custodians caring for Country," she said.
"We are seeing real and substantial outcomes from the dedication and commitment of community Landcarers, and it is so important that we continue to support and recognise their tremendous efforts."
The awards celebrate the incredible efforts of individuals and groups, of all ages, to protect our natural resources, stewarding a more resilient landscape for the future.
The award acknowledges Mr Rowe's significant contribution made by an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment to Landcare.

Mr Rowe is a landholder and leading Landcarer in the Upper Hopkins region.
He has guided the strategic direction of the Upper Hopkins Land Management Group since it formed in 1991.
Mr Rowe showcases Landcare farming at its best, by incorporating sustainable production and ecological benefits on his property.
He and his wife Goldie have created a network of biodiversity corridors across their land.
The Victorian Government is providing $51.9 million over the next four years to deliver 'unique biodiversity protection through community-driven action', which includes the Victorian Landcare Program.
