Park runs are free, weekly, community events which are held all around the world. The Ararat Park Run takes place on Saturday mornings at Alexandra Gardens.
Ararat parkrun event director Tricia Ruthven said after a hefty layoff due to COVID-19 it was "wonderful to be back".
"It was hard getting up early on a Saturday again, and it was a cooler morning," she said.
"Ararat parkrun is such a wonderful friendly community and being absent for so long you can forget how lovely our parkrun is."
