The renovations are due to be completed in 2022.
Ambulance Victoria Grampians regional director Chris James said a plan was in place for the upgrade.
"We can confirm a refurbishment of the Ararat ambulance branch is expected to commence early next year," he said.
"A temporary location for our hardworking paramedics has been secured while these works are completed."

Mr James said development will not disrupt the Ambulance service.
"This will not have any impact on our services in the area," he said.
In the Ararat Government area, there was a 10.1 percent decrease in life-threatening Code 1 cases from the same time last year.
The average response time to Code 1 patients was 16 minutes and 49 seconds, this is an improvement from 16 minutes and 57 seconds in the quarter prior.
Paramedics in the Ararat region attended 61.2 percent of Code 1 patients within 15 minutes - compared with 63.3 percent for the same period last year.
