The Ararat Outdoor Olympic Pool will open for public use from October 25 (from 6am - 9am daily).
Ararat Rural City Council chief executive Dr Tim Harrison said the Fitness Centre is thrilled to reopen the Ararat Outdoor Olympic Swimming Pool in time for summer.
"Pool staff are ready to go," he said.
"The Fitness Centre has been diligently preparing all week, carrying out appropriate safety checks to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the wider community as we start to reopen facilities.
"From October 25, residents will be able to make use of the Ararat Outdoor Olympic Pool. Though it may be chilly for some, I'm sure there are some dedicated lap swimmers who are keen to get back in the water."
Dr Harrison said water-related activities will recommence in the coming weeks.
"The Centre will be opening up the water park and slide gradually, hopefully from December in line with public health advice from the State Government.
"Similarly, our swimming program and aqua aerobic classes will start as soon as possible, keep an eye out on the Centre's social pages and website for updates," he said.
"As the weather warms up, we'll look forward to safely extending the Ararat outdoor pool's hours and reopening our two other outdoor pools in Lake Bolac and Willaura."
