Council chief executive Dr Tim Harrison said Ararat's parks have been a respite for many members of our community throughout the pandemic.
"Alexandra Gardens is a treasured park in Ararat, enabling locals to relax, stretch their legs and connect with nature," he said.
"With people spending more time outdoors for exercise, our team is working hard to maintain the health and safety of the gardens.

"By transforming a section of the walking path from gravel to asphalt, it is now safer and more accessible for the community.
"Our park keepers are preparing new garden beds around the grounds, namely in the front entrance of the gardens, native garden and the fernery areas.
"Residents can look forward to enjoying over 30 varieties that will be planted from this Friday, including carpet roses, succulents and native shrubs.
"The rose bushes will take a few weeks to bloom once planted - they will be a grand entrance feature for our gardens."
Ararat construction company Smith and Wil, along with Council staff, completed the paving project located on the west side of the lake.
