The Ararat cyclist sits in 72nd position in the overall classification after the ninth stage of the third of the grand tours in 2021.
He also sits inside the top 20 in the young rider category, currently 18th overall.

Hamilton is racing La Vuelta as a domestique in the Bikeexchange team, with Spaniard Mikel Nieve the leading contender on the team, currently in 45th position.
It's been a huge northern hemisphere summer for Hamilton who received a call up to the Tokyo Olympics and competed in the road race, considered the most gruelling of all time.
That race came just days after he was forced to pull out of the Tour de France after crashing out.
Stage 10, completed on Monday night, was a mostly undulating stage, with a category b climb near the end.
