East Grampians Health Service board chair Nancy Panter has announced the Board has appointed Peter Armstrong as interim chief executive, who will commence in the position on September 4, 2021.
He will and remain in place as interim while the Board undertakes the recruitment campaign for a new chief executive.
Mr Armstrong will take on the role as interim chief executive and move from his role director of clinical services at East Grampians Health Service.

Mr Armstrong has been with the health service for 12 years and is well regarded in the organisation.
EGHS board chair Nancy Panter said the Board was delighted to appoint Mr Armstrong as interim chief executive.
"The Board looks forward to working with Peter while the recruitment takes place for the next chief executive, as well as the opportunity to continue the good work of Mr Freeman over the past three years," Ms Panter said.
Mr Armstrong thanked the EGHS for his appointment.

During this time, Rebecca Peters will take on the role of acting director of clinical services.
Ms Peters has been with the organisation for three years in the role of clinical governance coordinator.
The resignation of Andrew Freeman was announced earlier in August, with the former chief executive taking up a position as Executive Director, Hume Health Service Partnerships with Goulburn Valley Health.
