Geelong Falcons were far too strong in their second round clash at Marty Bush Reserves on Sunday.
They kept the Rebels goalless in winning by 39 points – 6.40 (40) to 0.1 (1).
It was a disappointing way for Rhys Cahir to launch his role as GWV head coach.
Cahir stepped into the job last week, being promoted from the assistant coaching panel to fill a vacancy left by Jeff Whittaker, who stepped down.
Geelong did most of the damage in the second quarter with three goals to open up a 24-point lead against the scoreless Rebels.
While the Falcons added only another two goals in the second half, they still had the better of the play with six scoring shots.
Nyakoat Dojiok was prominent for the GWV Rebels, along with Georgia Clark, Denver Henson and Sophie Van De Heuvel.
The Rebels play Bendigo Pioneers at Mars Stadium on Saturday.
