Speaking at the annual general meeting of Ararat U3A on Monday, President Pat McAloon reported on another successful year for the older person’s education group.

“A highlight of the year was reaching a total of 130 financial members , the highest in our eight-year history,” Mr McAloon said.
“It was also pleasing to see the introduction of new activities for the organisation including Finska, Pilates and Alexandra Lake Walking Group.”
Mr McAloon acknowledged the contributions of retiring secretary Lee Albert and retiring Program Coordinator Margaret Burbidge.
The following were elected: Pat McAloon President , Kevin Free Vice President , Lynne Wilson Secretary , Pam Brennan Treasurer. Committee members elected Phil Brotchie, Ferg Anderson, Pam Orr, Losi Leipoldt, Anne Hedgeland and Lee Albert .
Guest speaker at the AGM was Dale Hurley, General Manager of Rivergun Redsidential Treatment Centre at Ararat prison.
