The men’s squad got Elmhurst off to a strong start, with Matt Haddow, Linden Murray and Mal Boatman getting the win in the section 27 games to 11.
Crowlands got back on the winners’ list in the women’s section with a steadying 27 games to 17 win.
The third set proved to be the closest with the scoreline reading 9-8 to ensure Crowlands won all three sets to reduce the margin ahead of the all important mixed doubles.

A nine games to four opening set for Elmhurst meant Crowlands needed to win the last two sets by big margins to win overall, but it was not meant to be.
Crowlands failed to win the next set, all but guaranteeing Elmhurst would finish the grand final as winners.
The final set was won by Crowlands but it was too little too late, as Elmhurst won the mixed doubles 22 games to 16 to get the overall victory 66 games to 54. It caps off a stellar season for the team, as it showed great consistency throughout the year with the squad leading the way for much of the season.
