Across the two innings, 15 wickets fell with batsmen struggling to settle into a rhythm at the crease.
Combine won the toss and elected to bat first a decision that looked the correct one with James Devery and Sam Cocks putting on 36 runs before the first wicket fell.
It proved to be the biggest partnership of the day, as batsman were struggling to play shots with any sort of confidence.
Damien Joiner and Matt Delzotto also made some valuable runs at the top of the order for Swifts-Great Western.
When Travis Nicholson was dismissed, Combine was 4-77 and looking like the ladder leaders might make a big score but a lower order collapse meant it was not to be.
The Swifts-Great Western team was bowled out for 139 in the 60th over with Cocks top-scoring with 28.
Ash Maconachie was the best of the Tatyoon bowlers, claiming 3-31 from his 13 overs.
Michael Harricks, Aaron Byron and Jarrod Blandford also got in on the action, finishing with two wickets each.
Tatyoon’s run chase started on edge, as Maconachie was dismissed for four with fellow opener Andrew Ward following soon after to leave the home side struggling at 2-12.
Blandford and Joe Gibson tried to steady the innings, 28 before the third wicket fell for the innings.
Two more batsmen returned to the pavilion before stumps, leaving the home team in a difficult position at 5-32.
Matt Heffer did most of the damage for Swifts-Great Western, claiming four of the five wickets in the innings so far.
Tatyoon still needs 108 runs to avoid a first innings loss, a task that looks unlikely with five of the top six batsmen already dismissed on day one.
