A Fluid Groove collaboration born from the West Australian coastline, Blue Child Collective’s easy-flowing, conscious song craft “evokes the gentle rhythms and roaring freedom of Australia’s seaside”, according to Happy Mag.
Blue Child Collective will be performing for Ararat Live in the Red Room at the Ararat Hotel around 8pm on Wednesday February 28. Door entry is $20 for adults.
Fronted by Dan White, an enthusiastic collaborator, multi-instrumentalist and finger style artisan conjuring sound scapes spanning raging rhythmic grooves to bluesy licks and ethereal trips, this is music with purpose.
From his thought-provoking lyrics to the Collective’s engaging live performances, Blue Child Collective reminds us that we’re all, in essence, children of this blue planet and connected in our existence; one and the same.
The Collective’s third record, ‘Saturn Saw The Seaside’, captured in Corsica, France and released late 2016 has seen them knock out close to 300 shows across Europe, New Zealand and Australia over the last 18 months, bringing both full band dance offs and intimate duo performances to a rapidly growing global following.
Having supported major touring acts such as The Cat Empire, Sticky Fingers, Caravana Sun, OKA, Band Of Frequencies and many more, the group are notorious for their cross-pollination within and without the music industry.
Blue Child Collective are currently gearing up to release ‘Wattle Tree Corroboree’, the first single from their new album and accompanying video colaboration with Emjay Angeni and Her Name Is Murder Productions, which will take them around Australia for the third time in the last 12 months.
With their fourth record, ‘Wake Up To The Sound’, featuring some of the country’s finest musicians due out in 2018 fast approaching and multiple national tours to accompany, Blue Child Collective is rapidly growing into a major catalyst for positive change on a global scale as more and more people join the movement and contribute to the ‘Culture Of Connection’.
Watch out for the Ararat Live line up with the return of overseas stars Steve Poltz in March and the wonderful Canadian trio ‘The Good Lovelies’ in April.
With the exception of the Port Fairy Folk Festival, Ararat Live will be the only rural venue in Victoria on Steve Poltz’s Australian Tour.
Ararat Live is a not for profit small band of friends that have continued to bring quality live music to Ararat since October 2010.
