The Mick Sell-trained Ardra Storm looked like she was well on her way to victory in the 1310m Ord Motorcycles Ararat BM58 Handicap when all of a sudden she nudged the inside rail twice before veering across the rest of the field towards the outside of the track.
The four-year-old mare narrowly avoided Our Wando who eventually finished in second place but protested the final placings.
After review, the stewards dismissed the protest on the grounds they did not think the interference caused was a factor in the result.
