The announcement was made at the Auxiliary’s annual meeting, at which Viv Burridge was installed as the new president of the EGHS Auxiliary, taking over from long time president Margie Kilpatrick.

New secretary Lorraine John, replacing long serving secretary Therese Jess and Christine Van Straaten in her second term as treasurer, will join Ms Burridge.

In her report, Mrs Kilpatrick said that it had been a busy year for all Auxiliary members.

“It is wonderful to see our small committee being so amazingly willing and capable in amongst their busy lives,” she said.

Over the past 12 months the Auxiliary has purchased five Roho cushions for the Dialysis Department at a cost of $1395, a real time ultrasound machine and pelvic floor model at a cost of $13,824, and an Isolette, an incubator for newborn infants, at a cost of $22,575.

“This is a wonderful contribution to the hospital,” Mrs Kilpatrick said.

The Auxiliary also received some funding from the Ararat Performing Arts Centre as a result of supporting their events.

The annual Orchard Luncheon in Willaura saw $2851 raised, with well known horticultural and media personality Rob Pelletier guest speaker.

The WWW Dinner was held at Gum San Chinese Heritage Centre and even though numbers were restricted because of the venue, it was a huge success and the guest artist Kelly Auty was entertaining and inspiring.

“Thank you for all your hard work and support, it has made my role as president so much easier,” Mrs Kilpatrick said.

“It is also very satisfying knowing we are making a significant contribution to our health service and our community.

“I have enjoyed my seven years as president and being part of such a wonderful and dynamic group of women.

“I wish Viv well and know we will all be behind her with our support and help.”

EGHS chief executive Nick Bush thanked Mrs Kilpatrick for her seven years of tireless work leading the auxiliary.

“Thank you Margie for the great leadership you have shown,” he said.
