Sue Knight and her daughter Sophie have been developing the skills of youngsters from across the rural district in a swimming program that has been taking place at Willaura each summer over many years.
The pool committee has organised the program each year because of the importance of Australian children all learning to swim.
Knowing what to do if you get into trouble is the water is essential for children in a district with dams, rivers, lakes and creeks.
Ms Knight’s message to parents is “swimming is an asset for life and it can save lives- teach your kids to swim”
