Road closures for the event on February 13 have been confirmed with a community celebration at Alexandra Oval to follow the relay.
Come and try sport sessions will be a highlight for the younger people at the event with a Q&A session with Olympic and Commonwealth Games medallist Shane Kelly also set to engage people at the event.
A free barbecue will also be on offer with community members encouraged to visit the celebration, as it is the westernmost point the baton will visit south of Mildura.
The baton relay will start at 4.50pm at Ararat College and finish around 5.30pm at Alexandra Oval with the community celebration to follow.
The celebration is expected to finish around 6.30pm.
For more information on the event schedule, you can visit the Ararat Rural City Council website.
Ararat has two batonbearers with Chloe Dunmore and Karen Brennan set to be involved.
