After winning the toss and electing to bat, the visitors made an immediate impact.
46 was put on the board before Ben Iseppi took the first wicket of stand-in captain Riley Wood.
Iseppi bowled Wood’s other opening partner Cameron Ralph shortly after and when Horvatek lost his wicket for just one run, the Gappers were on top with the score at 3-57.
Scott Turner and Mitch Wood dampened the Gappers’ hopes, putting on an 84-run stand. Turner finished not out on 73 as Aradale smashed its way to a total of 184.
Any chance of a Halls Gap upset dissipated with Horvatek running rampant with the ball.
He claimed Halls Gap’s top five wickets and eventually finishing with figures of 7-33 from his eight overs.
The damage done by Horvatek at the top of the order gave Halls Gap no chance to chase down the difficult target, but number nine batsman David Turner fought to boost his teams total, scoring 21 as they were bowled all out for 69 in less than 20 overs.
The seven wicket haul from Horvatek makes him the leading wicket taker for the 2017-18 A Grade season so far, with 26 wickets.
The Gappers remain win-less at the bottom of the A Grade ladder following the loss, while Aradale remains in a strong position in third, one point shy of second-placed Youth Club.
