The Clubbers were forced to bowl first after losing the toss and set about getting early wickets through opening bowlers Sean Mantell and Nick Seeary.
The home team were able to score boundaries regularly, as they managed to get to 7-153 after 40 overs.
Youth Club’s run chase started off on the wrong foot with both openers dismissed early on before Chris Schaper combined with Nathan Chuchill to steady the ship.
The Clubbers eventually finished on 8-167 after their 40 overs to record the win.
Wickliffe-Lake Bolac def by Halls Gap
Halls Gap kept its finals hopes alive with a thumping win against Wickliffe-Lake Bolac.
The Gappers’ opening bowlers were devestating with Brian Driscoll claiming five wickets for just 13 runs from his five over spell.
Brendan McIlvena was the only resistance from the home team, as he was able to make 15 not out as his team fell around him to get bowled out for 35 off 14 overs.
Halls Gap chased the runs with ease with opener Riley Thomas retiring on 32 to give the lower order some batting time. The Gappers finished with 2-63 from 12 overs to finish the round one win outside the top four.
Pomonal def Willaura
Bottom-placed Pomonal has caused one of the upsets of the season, knocking off finals contender Willaura in a tight contest.
The home team won the toss and chose to bat first with the Willaura bowlers struggling early on.
Two wickets set Pomonal back but David Padley and Josh Abbott combined to lead their team to 7-144 from 40 overs.
Willaura would have backed itself in to get the points but was unable to reel in the total, leaving it in in fourth position, equal with two other teams on 33 points.
Chalambar drew with St Andrews
In what seemed to be a common occurence across games on Saturday, rain caused some delays with the weather eventually forcing the match between Chalambar and St Andrews to be abandoned at Willaura Recreation Reserve.
St Andrews won the toss and sent Chalambar in to bat with the home team reaching 4-50 after 28 overs before rain forced a draw with both teams getting three points each.
