Gayle Dadswell and Judy Edwards finished the day with a very respectable score of eight up after winning nine holes, squaring eight holes and only losing one to top the scores in the four ball best ball event at Chalambar Golf Club on Wednesday.

A three-way tie of teams on six up forced a count back to decide that the pair of Joy Cronin and Nola Pugh had taken runners up honours.

The unlucky teams to miss out were Marg Peoples and Lyn Faneco and the combination of Goldie Rowe and Marg Lardner.

Sandie Shaw, Gayle Dadswell. Barb Gow and Liz de Fegely picked up nearest the pin awards with accurate drives on the par three holes.

Monday’s competition saw Ladies’ Captain, Helen Tucker, continue a rich vein of form to take the win with 19 points, two points clear of runner-up Rene Hamilton.

There was no ladies golf played on Saturday because of the extreme heat with golfers enjoying a weekend off.

The ladies will return to the green on Wednesday for a stableford event.
