Ararat parkrun event director Tricia Ruthven said visiting runners had a lot of praise for the garden course.
“We had 38 people there on Saturday. Some of them were tourists as we get tourists every week,” she said.
“It was really good.
“With the Ararat course and its magnificent trees, most of the course is in shade, so it was lovely.”
Ms Rutherven said visitors from Melbourne, Geelong and Adelaide appreciated Ararat’s course.
“They said it was the perfect summer parkrun course,” she said.
Ararat parkrun has started a campaign to get more participants registered at www.parkrun.com.au.
