There is a bushfire at Northern Ararat within McDonald park that is now under control.
The Country Fire Authority said there is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.

At least seven firefighting vehicles are responding to a grass and bushfire in the Ararat Regional Park north of the town on Wednesday afternoon.
The Country Fire Authority has issued this advice message:
- There is a bushfire at Northern Ararat that is not yet under control.
- The bushfire is travelling in a southerly direction towards Morella Road
- The fire is slow moving, there may be spotting activity
There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.
The fire is is the McDonald Park area about three kilometres north-west of Ararat in the area south-west of the Western Highway intersection with Main Divide Road.

- Firefighters are on scene and responding to this fire.
- Smoke will be visible from nearby communities and roads.
The next update is expected by 08.50pm Wednesday or as the situation changes.

A total fire ban has been declared in the Wimmera and Mallee districts for Wednesday.
