The money will go towards replacing items lost in October’s fire.
Ararat West principal Terry Keilar thanked the band ‘Plastered’, the comedians, Ararat College for the free use of its hall and Ararat Rural City for the free lend of its stage and equipment.
“It was a fantastic evening. We had lots of support from the community and we had about 200 people there,” he said.
“Dave O’Neil and Brad Oakes got the night started with plenty of laughter then we had our goods and services auction and we raised close to $12,000 from that.
“Then we finished with local band Plastered. We are very thankful to all the businesses for their support.”
